He was a successful magazine and illustrator. He was born on August 6th, 1928 in Pittsburgh. The movement that he did was print making and pop art at 1960s. He died on February 22, 1987, in New York City. After he graduated from the college with his fine art in 1949, he moved to New York City to pursue as a commercial artist. One of the movement called “Print Boon” has been taking the most fame due to Warhol in 1960s.
On the occasion of Marilyn Monroe’s suicide, Warhol used a picture for his screen-printing, and made one of the most famous artwork from him called “Shot Malilyns”. He preferred popular culture and commercial processes. In this artwork, he made ten portraits of her to see the possibilities in screen-printing for shifting colors. This print has revealed Warhol’s grasp of American culture.
