Expressionism was emerged in Germany in 20th century. Expressionism was influenced from Post-Impressionism, Fauvism and Symbolism. It was quite different with before, because people started to express their emotions or feelings during expressionism rather than showing object’s real form. So it was against to Impressionism or academic art. During this time, people used paint to describe and exaggerate emotions. They often used vivid colors and bold strokes to emphasize and exaggerate emotions that they are expressing too. Lots of famous artists like Vincent van Gogh, Edvard Munch, etc. leaved from realistic description and started to join expressionism to capture subjective thoughts and prospects.
