Jenny Holzer is a conceptual artist, feminist and political activist. She chooses the work material uses an LED electronic sign, T-shirts, projection and other many items to deliver appealing messages to the general public. Her message induces unexpected realization and wise awakening to modern people who have become insensitive to language and image. Her work usually deals with words and sentences that are accessible to the public in daily life and conveys social criticism, gender equality and gender discrimination. In particular, it uses a tool called "Projection" which expands the stage of art by conveying text messages to the whole
building, nature, tourist spots and public places outside the general framework.
For example, 17 students were killed in a shooting rampage in Florida in 2018, trucks attaching the sentence "STUDENTS WERE SHOT" were sent to many parts of the U.S. to argue against guns. Besides, direct phrases such as "MEN DON'T PROTECT YOU ANYMORE" on condom and "RAISE BOYS AND GIRLS THE SAME WAY" on T-shirt are used to gender equality between men and women. The reason her artwork is so popular with audiences is that it is easy to understand, easy to interpret and the free form letters and sizes have made a big impression. She is still creating change the text to improve text art, and she is showing her art will by increasing the number of letters and emphasizing the sentence.
