Song Dong is a Chinese contemporary artist who is active in sculpture, installation, performance, photography and video. In 2005, he exhibited Waste For the first time, a device that showed more than 10,000 items accumulated by a deceased mother. His projects are usually made up of everyday items that raise the level of instability associated with personal and global themes.
In the work "ating the City" Song Dong wants to show us that in the present era many ancient buildings in China have been demolished, all over the place are new buildings. He built the whole city with biscuits and candy, and let the audience come to eat the city with him and make it into ruins.
